THE LANGUAGE OF FLOWERS
Floriography, the language of flowers, was discovered by the French and English in the 1700's in Turkey. This language shows us that every flower has a meaning and can convey certain feeling and emotions. Our ancestors used the gifting of flowers to express sentiment, to help express feelings, to remember and to celebrate.
Although this language isn't as well known today, the meaning behind gifting flowers and the sentiment it brings is still widely known.
BIRTH FLOWERS
A newer trend in floriography has been to attribute each month it's own flower with corresponding characteristics. These characteristics are thought to be "inherited" by anyone born in that month.
Knowing about birth flowers can come in handy when choosing the perfect gift - whether it be a bouquet of flowers or a pendant with their birth flower on it (or someone's they love).
